About the Working Group

In the last few years, the bioenergy sector has been witnessing a significant increase in the demand and consumption of wood chips, coupled with interesting changes in the market dynamics (e.g. size of end-users, new supply areas, increase trading). These changes require a dedicated space for the wood chips actors to meet and discuss. Bioenergy Europe Working Group Wood Chips is the space where our Members and the Secretariat can actively exchange data, market trends, news in legislation and information on cutting-edge technologies.

  • Next meeting

In this second meeting of the Working Group, participants will get an overview of the new sourcing areas showing a potential for further development and investment opportunities, as well as the associated challenges. Special attention will be given to EU RED II sustainability criteria, entering into force in 2021, and the tools available for showing compliance, such as the SURE Certification. The meeting will also investigate the different needs from supplier and end-users in terms of quality, sampling and testing of the wood chips.
During the whole day, participants will be able to share their knowledge and experience about the sector. Do not miss this unique networking opportunity! Regsiter here.
